"When God moved Pastor Randy and myself from Washington, DC to Tampa, FL in 1990, He laid on our hearts an incredible vision: broken and hurting children and youth. We began a church, called South Tampa Christian Center, with 5 people on July 11, 1991 -- in a storefront -- and began to reach out and touch others with the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ. The first purchase we made as a 50-member church was a 24-foot vehicle, which served as a rolling theatre. This outreach truck went into government housing areas and performed a one-hour "Nickelodeon" type program, which encouraged high values and morals for the children and residents there.We stand in amazement of the phenomenal blessings and increase of God since that day of small beginnings. Free School Supplies for Children in Need Offered by Paula White Ministries Back-to-School Bash Aug. 2 at Municipal Auditorium
San Antonio, Texas (July 24, 2008) - Free school supplies, sneakers, haircuts, school physicals as well as food boxes to feed a family of four for an entire week will be offered to children in need at the Paula White Ministries/Epicenter annual Back-to-School Bash at 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio.
"It gives the ministry great joy to help parents prepare children to return to school," said Pastor Paula White. "This mission helps share the love of Jesus in a practical way and truly meets people at the point of their need. Matthew 25: 35-40: says "for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink ...just as you did it to one of the least of these, you did it to me.' "
All items and services are on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed to be available to all.
Donors may visit www.paulawhite.org to contribute to this and several other Back-To-School events the ministry sponsors.
"Because a child is 'poor' doesn't mean he has to 'feel poor.' My heart's desire is to send as many children as possible back to school with hope, dignity and a reason to smile. Just $20 helps provide one child with a new pair of sneakers and a backpack loaded with school supplies and for $50 we can add a food box for a family of four for an entire week. White said. "Donations also help support other ongoing ministry efforts worldwide to transform lives, heal hearts and win souls."
